Young King

The story

Haunted by the brutal realities of the Iraq war, Diondre Howell returns home a changed soldier, carrying invisible wounds that refuse to heal. As he struggles to transition back into civilian life, the psychological toll of combat—marked by PTSD, paranoia, and unresolved trauma—begins to fracture his sense of identity. The battlefield may be behind him, but the war rages on in his mind, turning ordinary moments into flashpoints of fear and anger. Unable to reconcile the disciplined warrior he once was with the vulnerability of home life, Diondre’s unraveling places the very people he fought to protect—his family—in growing danger.
